LAUNDRY TOTEM - MATERIAL WORLD SERIES by David Welch
When it was announced that Winnipeg would be getting a new hockey team, I entered a submission into PuckDrawn.com’s logo contest. We were only allowed one submission, so, knowing most people would probably submit a Winnipeg Jets logo (the team hadn’t been named yet), I decided to go further into Winnipeg’s hockey past and designed a logo for the Manitoba Falcons. I received some positive comments on the Falcons logo. Once Winnipeg officially announced they would be the Jets, I did the second logo, which is supposed to be reminiscent of their history, but with an updated, more modern look.
I’m pretty happy with how both designs turned out. I do my designs in Microsoft Publisher because I haven’t learned how to use Photoshop or Illustrator, which allow for a lot more versatility. Still, given that these are just polygons piled onto each other, I think they’re okay.
